DATE AND FREQUENCY: The Music Group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 10a.m. for two hours, with a half an hour coffee break at half time!
DESCRIPTION: We spent the first year or so going over the history and development of music.
Each member now takes a turn at presenting a 'programme'.
There has been a wide range of topics - each very well presented - and being so varied, has proved to be really interesting and very enjoyable.
Some of the topics we have covered are :- Development of the horn, Elgar, Faure, Mendelssohn, Emotion in Music, Bryn Terfel, Handel, Mahler, Grieg, Form in Music, Purcell's Dido and Aeneus and a Quiz.
