The art appreciation group is an established group which is friendly and welcoming to new members.

VENUE: At the home of the leader in Braunston Road, Oakham. Parking is available.

DATE AND FREQUENCY: We meet once a month, normally on the second Monday morning of the month between 10am and noon.

DESCRIPTION: The idea is that we are not experts but learn together, agreeing on an artist to research before a meeting. Each member then researches one work of that artist and reports back to the group on the aspects of the work that have interested them. A friendly and informal discussion then takes place. We use a projector and screen to view the works under discussion.

We also join with members of the other two art appreciation  groups to take guided tours at galleries and houses and have previously visited Derby and Coventry, as well as the Wallace Collection and David Parr House in Cambridge

For a list of artists previously discussed at our meetings and our programme for 2026 see the attachments.
